Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 August 2026
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using OTPBox ("OTPBox", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
2. What OTPBox Does
OTPBox provides temporary virtual phone numbers for receiving SMS-based verification codes (OTPs) on third-party platforms and services. Numbers are sourced through third-party providers; we do not operate a telecommunications network ourselves. Availability, delivery speed, and success of any given number depend on those third-party providers and on the service you're trying to verify with, and are not guaranteed.
These numbers are temporary and shared — the same number may be used by different people at different times, and a number may have been used on a given service before. This can occasionally cause a service to reject a number or show that an account already exists. This is how disposable numbers work across the whole industry and is not a defect in our service. If a number never receives a code within its window, you are refunded automatically (see section 5).
3. Your Account
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use OTPBox. You must provide accurate information when signing up and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
4. Wallet, Pricing & Payments
OTPBox uses a prepaid wallet system. You fund your wallet through our supported payment methods, and purchases are deducted from that balance. Wallet balance is store credit for buying numbers on OTPBox: it is non-transferable to other accounts and is generally not withdrawable to cash or your bank card. Refunds for numbers that don't deliver are credited back to your wallet — see our Refund Policy. Prices are shown before you confirm a purchase and may change over time as our own costs change.
5. Purchases, Cancellations & Refunds
When you buy a number, you have a limited time window (shown on screen) to receive your code:
- If no code arrives before the window expires, your wallet is refunded automatically — no action needed from you.
- You may cancel a purchase yourself for a refund, but only after the first 2 minutes have passed (this restriction is set by our upstream provider, not by us).
- Once a valid code has been delivered to you, that purchase is final and not eligible for a refund, even if you cancel afterward.
- Where available, you may request a replacement number on the same purchase if the first one isn't working, at no extra charge.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use OTPBox to:
- Break the law, or the terms of service of any platform you're verifying an account on;
- Commit fraud, impersonate someone else, or facilitate account takeover;
- Send spam, run phishing or smishing, distribute malware or malicious links, or carry out social engineering;
- Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the security of our systems or our providers' systems;
- Resell access to OTPBox without our written permission.
Our upstream number providers set their own rules, and by using OTPBox you also agree to abide by any usage restrictions they impose (for example, prohibited uses and fair-use limits). Because we buy numbers on your behalf, misuse by you can put our own provider accounts at risk — so we may suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are engaged in any of the above, and any wallet balance associated with an account terminated for cause may be forfeited.
7. Service Availability
We aim for the service to be reliably available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for downtime, delays, or number/code delivery failures caused by our upstream providers, payment processors, or events outside our reasonable control.
What happens to an account after you verify it with one of our numbers is your responsibility. If the target platform rejects the number, suspends, or bans the account you created or verified, that is outside our control and is not grounds for a refund — the number and code were delivered to you as requested. You are responsible for complying with that platform's own terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OTPBox is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of access to a third-party account you were trying to verify.
9. Termination
You may stop using OTPBox at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, for suspected fraud or abuse, or as required by law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
