Legal
Rules
Plain-language rules that apply to using OTPBox. This is a summary for clarity — our Terms of Service is the full legal agreement.
Payment & Purchases
- You must fund your wallet before buying a number — top up from the dashboard.
- Bank transfer top-ups aren't always instant — they can occasionally take up to a few hours to be credited.
- Your wallet is only debited once a number is successfully assigned to your purchase.
- A purchase is considered complete once a code has been received and shown to you.
- If no code arrives, your funds are returned to your wallet automatically.
- Unlike some providers, OTPBox wallet balance has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn — it's for buying numbers only, not a store of funds.
Why Your Balance Wasn't Credited
If a top-up was made correctly, it's credited automatically — maximum wait is a few hours. Crediting problems usually come down to:
- Topping up less than the ₦100 minimum;
- A mismatch between the account details used to pay and the ones on the checkout page;
- The payment genuinely failing or being declined on your bank's side.
If it's been several hours and your balance still hasn't updated, message us with the amount and roughly when you paid.
Cancellation & Refunds
- Cancelling a purchase yourself becomes available 2 minutes after buying — this restriction comes from our upstream number provider, not from us.
- Cancelling for a refund is only possible if no code has been received on the number.
- Once a code has been received, the purchase is considered successful and isn't refundable.
- If no code arrives before your purchase's countdown runs out, your wallet is refunded automatically — no action needed.
- Where available, "Replace number" gets you a fresh number on the same purchase at no extra charge.
Special Cases
Some situations fall outside the normal delivered/not-delivered rule — a code technically arrives, but the number doesn't actually work for you:
- The platform demands 2FA or verification you can't complete;
- The number was already registered to someone else on that platform.
These are reviewed individually rather than auto-refunded, since a delivered code is normally treated as a completed purchase. Screenshots of what happened help us review faster.
What to Do If No Code Arrives
- Change the number — tap "Replace number" for a fresh one on the same purchase at no extra charge.
- Use a good-quality VPN or proxy, and make sure its country matches the number's country.
- Some countries have noticeably better SMS delivery rates than others for a given service — if one keeps failing, try a different country.
- If you're registering manually, some platforms flag repeated attempts from the same browser fingerprint — an anti-detect browser can help avoid that.
- Some apps (e.g. Telegram) need to be registered via their own mobile app rather than a browser.
- If nothing works, your wallet is refunded automatically once the countdown runs out — no action needed.
Account Actions
OTPBox only provides the number and the code. What happens afterward on the platform you used it for — account bans, suspensions, restrictions, or disputes with that platform — is between you and that platform. We are not responsible for consequences of how a purchased number is used, and all account-related actions are performed solely at your own risk.
Prohibited
- Anything illegal, or that breaks the terms of the platform you're verifying with;
- Fraud, impersonation, or account takeover;
- Using disposable numbers to abuse free trials or paid subscriptions;
- Banking, financial, or other sensitive-sector uses;
- Reselling access to OTPBox without our written permission.
Accounts engaged in the above may be suspended or terminated, and associated wallet balance may be forfeited. Laws on virtual number use vary by country — you're responsible for knowing the rules that apply to you.
Notifications
Account and transaction emails (password resets, receipts) are sent to the address on your account. If you don't see an expected email, check your spam folder.
Availability
Stock and success rates vary by service, country, and time of day, and aren't guaranteed. We aim for the service to be reliably available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and aren't liable for downtime or delivery failures caused by our upstream providers, payment processors, or events outside our reasonable control.
